SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Prepare exclusive recipes or make substitutions. Ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters should all be kept at a consistent temperature. Remove the frozen food from the freezer and place it in the refrigerator to thaw. Make sure the food is properly portioned, arranged, and garnished. Keep a food diary. Keep an eye on the quality and quantity of the food being prepared. During busy times, communicate the need for assistance. Notify the chef of any leftover food items so that they can be included in regular specials. Menu specials and out-of-stock menu items should be communicated to the Food & Beverage service workers. Ensure that the food is of good quality. Recipes, quality guidelines, presentation standards, and a food preparation checklist should all be followed when preparing and cooking food. Make cold foods ahead of time.
Assist management with employee recruiting, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, encouraging, and coaching; act as a role model. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; notify the manager of any maintenance issues, incidents, injuries, or hazardous working conditions; and complete all necessary safety training and certifications. Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information; and protect company properties. Anticipate and respond to guests’ service requests. Communicate with others straightforwardly and professionally. Develop and maintain good working relationships with others; assist the team in achieving shared objectives; listen to and respond appropriately to other employees’ concerns. Ensure that quality requirements and standards are met. For an extended period of time, stand, sit, or walk. Bending, spinning, dragging, and stooping are all examples of reaching overhead and below the knees. Without assistance, move, raise, hold, drive, pull, and position items weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds. When assigned by supervisors, perform other fair job duties.
